Florence – The first big Primark store in Tuscany will open next June 2 in the shopping centre “I Gigli”, close to Florence. It will be the third Primark in Italy, after Arese (Milan) and Brescia, inaugurated in the last two years. «We chose Florence because it is a magnificent city, the city of fashion par excellence, and because we found plenty of room in one of Europe’s most important malls, near the centre of town», explains the manager for Italy, Damien Defforery. The giant low-cost Irish fashion chain for women, men and children (from clothing to shoes, accessories and beauty products), including household items and some technological products, thus comes to Florence.
Primark is selecting 380 jobs out of 7,000 applications, 5,000 square feet of space that Primark managers announce as its latest and most explosive modernity and comfort effort. With 56 cash registers, 64 dressing rooms (in London it is often so crowded that clothes are tried on in the hall behind the clothes hangers), seating areas, cell phone refills, Wi-Fi and a comfortable employee lounge, featuring a kitchen, bar, computer stations to study world fashion trends and continuing education classes after the 11 thousand hours to be held in May. Hours: 9AM-10PM, 9AM-9PM Sundays.
«Amazing fashion at amazing prices» is Primark’s motto; Primark is a subsidiary of Associated British Foods, British food and trade giant, with 330 stores in 11 countries counting 69,000 employees and 700 manufacturing companies in 37 other countries, especially China, Bangladesh, India and Turkey, and an annual turnover of € 5.9 billion.
