Florence – The first Italian laboratory for turbomachinery sensors is launched in Florence, thanks to the collaboration between GE Oil & Gas and the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa. The laboratory is founded following an agreement signed few months ago and will serve to facilitate the direct transfer of technology to machinery and thus reduce implementation times.
Present at the launch today in Florence were the Chancellor of the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa, Pierdomenico Perata, the President of Nuovo Pignone, Massimo Messeri, the CEO of GE Oil & Gas Engineering, Paolo Noccioni, and the Director of the TECIP Institute, Massimo Bergamasco. Also present were the Vice-President and Tuscany Regional Councillor responsible for Culture, Universities and Research, Monica Barni.
“This has proved to be a happy union,” stated Monica Barni. “As a Region, we seek to bring research increasingly close to the world of manufacturing. We are committed to the development and promotion of the digital economy and we predict a significant evolution on this front, too.”
