On June 13th, the Region of Tuscany, Laika Caravans (Hymer group) and the municipalities of San Casciano Val di Pesa and Tavernelle Val di Pesa (Florence), have entered into an agreement for the entrepreneurial and occupational development of the Ponterotto motorhome production site, established one year ago.
«Just fifteen months ago we were cutting the ribbon, after a complex urban planning process» recalled Governor Enrico Rossi, observing that since then «recruitment has increased substantially, work has increased, production has grown, the market is going well and this company, which is part of the Tuscan camping district, one of the most important in Europe, is a company that has made us aware of its interest in expansion, its interest in having a partnership with us, including for sector research for the territory’s small and medium enterprises and for working from a training point of view».
The agreement reinforces «the collaboration in strategies for industrial development and enhancement of the skills gained on the territory, in terms of human resources and entrepreneurial skills », affirms the Region, recalling how it has recently contributed 3.4 millions euros, through regional tenders, to the development of new technologies then incorporated into the new range of motorhomes produced by Laika in the new facility.
