Arezzo – Borri SpA, a Tuscan firm specialised in UPS for industrial applications and datacenters (around €60 million sales, 200 people) has signed a joint venture agreement with the company BTicino from Lombardy, leader of the Legrand group in Italy and global specialist in the electrical and digital infrastructure of buildings in more than 90 countries with a turnover of around 5 billion in 2016.

“Borri’s knowledge and experience – says Franco Villani, BTicino’s Managing Director – in the field of UPS and its approach to tailor-made projects will enable us to grow with complex applications in high technology markets such as oil & gas and also in the data centre market”.

The scenario envisaged with this agreement, by which a share of Borri’s capital was acquired by the Legrand group, is that the company from Arezzo (with annual sales of about 60 million and 200 employees) will continue to retain its brand and sell products through the same channels, making use also of international markets where Legrand operates. Borri recently acquired an order for the supply of a large data centre in Korea.

Legrand, global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures (€5 billion sales, 36000 staff in 2016), started their entry into the UPS market in 2010, and have since made 8 acquisitions or joint ventures in UPS companies, as well as organic deployment in many countries.
