«The main reason why we are located in Tuscany can be summed up in one word: expertise». But also because of the support on the part of the local authorities, which allows us to reduce our Research & Development costs, in effect increasing our company's competitiveness and the eminent quality of our infrastructure. This according to Alberto Marinai, CEO of Continental Automotive Italy SpA, who was interviewed on the reasons that led the German company to establish themselves in the Tuscany region. It is on the basis of this observation, now shared by the 335 multinationals that are already present in the region, that Tuscany will take part in MIPIM in Cannes, the world's leading international trade event for the non-residential real estate market, from the 12th to 15th March, in their search for new investors.

The Italian Pavilion, Invest in Tuscany, Stand C1.11 – is where visitors at the French trade fair will be able to find Tuscany, which will make its presence felt at MIPIM with offerings from 8 municipalities, and a number of upcoming projects, such as: that of the expansion of the Interport in central Tuscany, in the Prato province, the Waterfront project for the town of Carrara, which foresees a series of urban redevelopment measures to improve the relationship between the harbour, the city and the coastal tourism industry; and the Fabbrichina project for the Colle Val d'Elsa where a new concept in urban complexes is emerging, the creation of one of the masters of architecture, Jean Nouvel. The real estate opportunities, both in the tourism and commercial sector presented by the municipalities of Livorno and Pisa – with the industrial port and the Airport, respectively, and the municipalities of Follonica and Poggibonsi will be substantial.

The presence of Tuscany at MIPIM, however, does not stop at the Stand. Two meetings are planned in fact, for the 14th March: at 3.30 pm at the Italian Pavillion where the talk will focus on Useful Tuscany: creativity and innovation in the Tuscan territory; while at 4.30 pm, at the Logistics Pavillion, there will be a presentation on the Tuscan systems of logistics and transport, during which Logistica Toscana, a logistical and transport consortium from the Tuscany Region and the Unioncamere (Italian Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Handicraft and Agriculture), will outline some of the more interesting new developments featured at the Invest in Tuscany stand at this year's MIPIM.
